CCS was established in 1970 by Salinas native Jeff Meeks. Jeff worked at a collection agency in Fresno while studying business administration at California State University at Fresno and continued his education at California University at Berkeley while working at the Credit Bureau of Salinas. Jeff soon decided to take a chance by going on his own and purchase a small agency by the name of Lindey’s Collection Service. Shortly after purchasing Lindey’s he changed the name to Credit Consulting Services, Inc.
Jeff started as a one man operation, but with hard work, a strong determination to succeed, and a good understanding of the creditor’s needs, CCS began attracting clients and building a solid reputation in the marketplace. This reputation and trust within the industry has provided CCS further growth opportunity through the acquisitions of Commerce Collections in Livermore, California, and Coast Credit Services in Santa Cruz, California, formerly known as Credit Bureau of Santa Cruz.
Over the years Jeff has worked extremely hard on growing a business that embodies his work ethic and passion for providing a high level of service to its clients. Jeff believes in honesty and integrity, and that investing back into the company and its employees is a formula for success.
Fostering a culture of highly trained and experienced employees enables CCS to provide its clients with the best trained collectors in the industry, and the greatest chance of recovery. That is why CCS was selected as Small Business of the Year by California State Senator Jeff Denham in 2006 and awarded “Best Places to Work in Monterey County” in Monterey County in 2008 and 2012.
